Tour Itinerary

Day One: Arrival & Banff Orientation

Your Calgary airport transfer will take you directly to your hotel in Banff. This picturesque resort town is the perfect base for your adventure. You'll meet your crew for a tour briefing and orientation, ensuring you're fully prepared for the incredible journey ahead.

Day Two: Banff to Fairmont Hot Springs (170km)

Depart from Banff and ride the scenic Highway 93 into Kootenay National Park. Overnight at the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort, Canada’s largest mineral hot pools.

Day Three: Fairmont Hot Springs to Creston (230km)

Today we will ride to the Bavarian town of Kimberley, a small mountain town tucked into the Purcell Mountains there we will spend the morning and after lunch we will continue on to Creston, where we will overnight in teepees, offering an unique cultural experience.

Day Four: Creston to Ainsworth Hot Springs (via Kootenay Ferry - 170km)

Today we will ride one of the most scenic motorcycle roads, Highway 3A where will the take a ferry ride across Kootenay Lake (one of BC’s largest lakes). After crossing, we will have lunch in Nelson, a small Kootenay town with a big reputation for culture. After lunch, we will overnight at Ainsworth Hot Springs, known for its natural hot, healing springs, caves, scenic lake & mountain views and a peaceful retreat after a day of riding.

Day Five: Ainsworth Hot Springs to Creston (via Kootenay Pass - 170km)

Kootenay Pass

Today we will ride the legendary route for riders, with curves through forests and mountain valleys. Passing through the Slocan Valley. Overnight in Creston.

Day Six: Creston to Fernie (200km)

Fernie is a mountain town in the south east of BC that lies on the Elk River and is fully surrounded by the Rocky Mountains. Option today to ride to Frankslide, a powerful history of the 1903 rockslide in the Crowsnest Pass or enjoy the afternoon in Fernie.

Day Seven: Fernie to Kananaskis (340km)

Today we ride the majestic Highwood Pass (the highest paved road in Canada) before we overnight in Kananaskis country, staying overnight at the Pomeroy, where you can relax, rest, repeat at the Nordic spa.

Day Eight: Kananaskis to Banff (45km)

Our final day of riding will take you down the scenic 1A to Banff, with breathtaking views of the foothills and Rocky Mountain Peaks.

Day Nine: Departure Day

After a final breakfast, it's time to say goodbye. You can either spend some time exploring Banff on your own or head to the airport for your flight home. The choice is yours.

FAQ

  • Our fully guided tours include an adventure motorcycle, accommodations, fuel, national park passes, curated routes, a professional tour guide and a support vehicle to passengers, luggage, and provide assistance. Many tours also include cultural experiences, to make the journey unforgettable.

  • Our tours are designed for riders with at least an intermediate level of motorcycle experience. You should be comfortable riding in various conditions (mountain roads, curves and light gravel sections) and group riding. Safety is a priority at Askiwa. If you are unsure, reach out to us, we can recommend the best route for your comfort level.

  • You’ll need to bring your motorcycle license, riding gear(helmet, jacket, gloves, boots, protective pants.) and personal items. Pack like you would for any motorcycle journey. Rental riding gear is available, subject to availability.

  • We keep our groups small and personal, with a maximum of 8 riders plus a guide and support vehicle. This ensures safety, camaraderie, and a premium experience.

  • Our support vehicle carries luggage, provides backup in case of emergences, and has basic medical supplies. It also offers comfort for non-riding companions who wish to join the journey.

  • Our tours begin and end in Banff or Canmore, Alberta. Airport transfers are included from Calgary International Airport.

  • Cancellations made 60+days before departure receive a refund (minus deposit). Cancellations within 60 days are non-refundable, but credits may be applied toward a future tour. Check our T&C’s page for more details.

  • In the Canadian Rockies weather can change quickly, even within the same day. You can expect a mix of sunny skies, cool mountain mornings, and the possibility of rain or sudden temperature drops, especially at higher elevations and mountain passes.

    We recommend packing layered riding gear, waterproof protection, and being prepared for all conditions. Riding gear not being used can be stored in the support vehicle. Your guide will provide daily weather updates so the group can ride comfortably and safely.
