About Us
Askiwa (Us-KEE-wah)
def: A Cree word meaning ‘the land’ or ‘the earth’
Cree is one of the largest Indigenous groups in Canada, with communities spread across much of Canada
At Askiwa Motorcycle Tours, we believe the journey is as sacred as the destination. Rooted in Indigenous tradition, our tours are more than motorcycle rides; they are immersive experiences through some of the most breathtaking landscapes on traditional lands.
Our name, Askiwa, drawn from Cree language, reflects the land, spirit, and connection we honor on every ride. Each route is carefully curated to blend thrilling adventure with cultural, natural wonder, and meaningful moments along the way.
At Askiwa, we are more than a touring company. We welcome riders from around the world to experience Canada in a way that respects its heritage, celebrates its beauty, and creates memories that last a lifetime.
Our mission is to provide more than just a tour—it's to offer an unforgettable experience that empowers riders to explore boldly while feeling completely supported. We are driven by the values of adventure, respect, and inclusion, and we can't wait to share the road with you.
The journey is sacred. The ride is yours.

Shelley
I’m an indigenous woman from treaty 8 territory, a registered nurse, and someone who has been in love with motorcycles for over 20 years. Riding has been more than just a hobby for me, its freedom, connection, and a way to experience the world with all my senses.
My nursing career in critical care taught me the importance of trust, care, and being fully present in the moment. Those same values guide me as a tour leader. When you ride with me, my goal is for you to feel safe, cared for, and free to truly enjoy the journey.
I’ve been lucky enough to travel and ride in many countries around the world, but there’s something incredibly special about the lands we ride here. These lands are filled with stories, culture and sacred beauty. Having the opportunity to share that with you, is what inspires me.
At Askiwa Motorcycle Tours, our belief is simple: “The Journey is sacred. The Ride is Yours.” That’s what guides me, because this isn’t just about getting from point A to point B, its about honoring the land, embracing the adventure, and creating memories that stay with you long after the ride ends.

I grew up in Calgary, Alberta, where I first discovered my love for motorcycles. Over the years, I have turned my adventurous spirit into a lifelong passion for riding. Beyond the open road, I have built and continue to run a successful water drilling business, guided by generosity, dedication and a strong work ethic.
When I am not working or on two wheels, you’ll often find me outdoors, whether it’s fishing, exploring nature, or simply enjoying the quiet beauty of the land. For me, riding isn’t just a pastime, it’s a way to connect with the land, share experiences with others, and embrace the freedom of the journey.
Being your guide, these tours are about creating experience’s that honor the land and culture, while bringing people together through adventure.
I am honored to be part of a life long journey.
